Medgate provides a platform for enterprise-wide data management and productivity solutions, used by health and safety professionals across a wide range of industries around the world.
I had the opportunity to team up with a Project Manager and Motion Graphic Designer to visually demonstrate the purpose of the product. The success of one animation segued my team into building two more videos for the happy client.
During our first client meeting, we discussed the business goal, feel of the video, if there was a vision already in mind, and what requirements were needed. We were provided a script and my team sourced out a voice over recording. Much research about EHS industries was done on my part, and I would inquire on any information given to have a better sense of the software itself. With all this, I began brainstorming ideas on how to visually demonstrate the purpose of the product.
Once the client and I reached an agreement on a vision, I began sketching on paper a storyboard. Client meetings would be scheduled to discuss what to keep, change, and redraw on a certain sequence. Multiple iteration were produced and finally a settlement to proceed into digital illustrations was made.
Using Adobe Illustrator, I fleshed out high quality illustrations of the storyboard, shared with the client, and revised on certain frames and/or sequences until the visuals felt cohesive.
At this stage, high quality illustrations were approved and sent to the Motion Graphic Designer for animation. Both the client and I stood alongside the animator to smooth out wrinkles and glitches. Small adjustments were made and we provided the highest quality for a corporate video demonstrating the use and benefits of the Medgate software. Below is an example of one of our videos.
